The new AMT changes are huge for CA owners. There is also the child tax “credit” which is also huge. Because it is a tax credit it negates a large amount of overall income subject to tax. The market is also driven by RSU income which lenders are using to qualify for loans.
At least with joint filers, the new tax law only screws over big deducters who make less than 200k and those who make over 700k or so. Homeowners in the middle couldn't really deduct before anyway due to AMT, so they're likely to get a tax break now.
