As a San Francisco resident & lifelong tech industry person, I for one would want public officials who are informed & yet fight the growing power of rich/tech group & represents real San Franciscans. Too many politicians are supplicants to tech!

Figure out a way to pay for that (probably by attracting more business) so you can’t say that you’re innocent. We were supposed to be running ~$1B in deficits by now but we’re “only” at $200M/yr bc of the tech boom.

Real Californians want something for nothing. They want generous services and they want to generously compensate their public servants. The problem is they don’t want to pay taxes for that. They want someone else to pay taxes for it.

Kim-Mai, great description/true. As an SF native, I'll take respectful issue w/ one description: NIMBYs. They're not progressive. They market themselves as grassroots but are a perfect example of left pushing all the way around to end up hard right reactionaries.
