We really need to change the laws and cut pensions for city workers

I’m not comfortable with that idea. We promised people something for their service. I raise the issue because I want people to be aware of the city’s financial constraints and the trade offs it has to make.

And if you're in a city or state that *can't* grow for reasons other than "Politicians suck", please understand that you're completely screwed and need to move to growing states right now. And that you'll be spending your entire life outrunning pension liabilities.

The unions fund candidates in SF that are slow growth without understanding that we can’t even pay for their retirements as is without further destroying the schools and services.
