i wanna be extremely clear that my social housing advocacy is not driven by some weird concealed nimby politics but because my stomach turns every time i remember that i see more homeless kids in an average day than i used to see in a year because of this policy change

In our internecine stuff, people will literally complain that its not affordable and then you have to explain that inclusionary generally caps out at under 20 % in SF unless there’s office or it’s already public land. Or! You can pay more taxes! And then they’re like Nah.

I've been in the bay area since the early 70s. Lived in SF 10 years, worked there about 25 on and off. The homeless were a lot younger in those days..
