Would the bill be more likely to pass if it excluded rent-controlled properties? It would have reduced its impact for sure, but I feel like it would make it harder for tenant orgs to oppose this type of bills...

It really pisses me off. People who study structural inequality made persuasive and well informed arguments in favor. That an "activist" with opinions gets to define the terms of the opposition as anything other than anti-housing is enfuriating.

& others who study structural inequality, who are housing providers, service providers, who work directly on poverty, who work on gentrification/displacement, etc, also made well-informed arguments in opposition. The YIMBYs are nothing more than activists w/ opinions, after all
