I think that the difference here is that the highway is free to use and housing is.... still usually the most expensive thing that people will ever spend their money on in their entire lives.
They're definitely different. But also people should realize that there's a lot of people that would move to sf if prices were slightly lower--or people who wouldn't move away. Just trying to manage expectations!
Oh, you mean prices would be lower, and thus more people with comparatively lower (and more diverse incomes & backgrounds) would be able to move, participate and contribute to the Bay Area?
