Well if you have been watching this fall’s gradual, inevitable 30+ year decline into irrelevance like I have (and yes I was there 20+ years ago), then you might have different opinions.

Then shouldn’t you be happy the space will be revitalized and enhance the livability of Cupertino? Affordable housing should = more manageable housing & transportation costs for many who work in the area.

Wait did I misunderstand you? I’m happy we’re getting somewhere bc the existing homeowner voter majority in there wants 100% retail and that not only contains zero housing, it’s not economically feasible.
