I think there should be greater transparency. But I think it’s ok, and in fact necessary, for a better campaign with a worse candidate to win. If one candidate refused to go negative in other media and lost, wed call them a principled loser & be done with it

They don’t charge a flat rate. Both candidates had the same tools and could’ve earned the same rate. Also, tv ads in different markets cost different amounts - do blue state tv ads cost as much as red state tv ads? No.
