@matthewstoller is missing? I agree it’s standards that would directly solve this problem (not competition). Competition would make things less safe on the whole. The govt needs to set the rules for competition to work best. Security is one of them! -
But I think perhaps
@matthewstoller point is that with actual competition it’s much harder for any one company to influence those policy decisions...
