Bc costs are so insane down there, Rentals are probably more accessible to families than ownership.

My observation is young families rent until they are priced out, and then move. Graduation from rent to own is rare.

The city is fairly segregated between the types of housing. Both Bubb district (virtually no apartment buildings, few rentals) and Castro district (lots of apartment buildings) are in huge demand.
