I put the rationale of the vote in the tweet — which is to have a more even competitive field between the three major June candidates and to have separation of powers. But it sucks that the only two female mayors we’ve ever had got office because a man died.

This way if Breed wins in June she won't be stuck with that asterisk and will be the first elected non-incumbent mayor of SF
