Economics, while an essential tool for modeling welfare outcomes, are not the end-all be-all for policy. Sociologists like Matthew Desmond also provide an invaluable perspective on how evictions disproportionately affect poor and POC.

Lack of rental housing (a result of rent control) disproportionately affects poor and POC people also.
