You know what? I am going to give SF a pass for the costs on this one: the Strait of Messina bridge might be twice as long, but presumably done with lower cost Italian labor. Assuming high fixed costs of the bridge regardless of length,$8.3 billion for 4-5 miles isnt unimaginable
