Oh I have a question. Was is the cost-benefit math or modifying BART to be standard gauge. I mean 9.5 inches wider is just, uh, 9.5 inches wider right? Lol. I know this is gonna get a crazy response.

Non-engineer answer: shut down the system for a couple years, rip out all the track, and buy all new cars (retrofit sounds crazy). Would have marginal cost savings for future rolling stock procurements. Bad deal if you ask me.
