Charming that this publicly elected official representing a largely single-family home part of a major US city & who already owns 3 units in a trust worth at least $5.5M thinks housing production contributes to the housing crisis. (Her district has built 340 units since 2007).https://twitter.com/BobbikeLu/status/935381395999834112 …

Jesus. We need conflict of interest disclosure for everyone involved in housing policy.
@BobbikeLu this is egregious.1 reply 0 retweets 3 likes -
Everyone has a conflict of interest when it comes to housing policy. There is no way out of that.

True. But for most, the conflict = "I wish I could afford a house" not "I pocket tens of thousands of dollars a year from the state (disclosure: I am a Menlo Park single-family homeowner who enjoys a Prop 13 subsidy but I think fairness is more important than my pocketbook)

There's many to "I wish I could afford a house." There's "I wish I could afford a house-and-I-am-on-the-cusp-of-doing-so-provided-you-build-more-housing" and there's "I wish I could afford a house and-I-make-minimum-wage-so-no-developer-can-build-one-for-me-without-subsidy."
