Yeah, I've definitely heard the same about India! My Chinese friends hate hate hate the health-care there also. But I think the original piece that prompted our convo here pointed out several of the system that still have this property ...

While I wouldn’t say the NHS is perfect, that’s the other country’s healthcare system I’ve used and I’d say it was really nice and not stressful to know that it wouldn’t financially bankrupt me. Also did the job.

Two kids on the NHS. Cost nothing. Nurse came to house for a week after to do check-ups. Agreed, NHS isn't perfect but sure is pretty awesome
