A bikeshare scheme rolled here in Victoria BC (a tech town) with little fanfare a couple of months ago. Seems to be successful.

I believe "Silicon Valley" functions rather like "Hollywood" - doesn't matter if studios are in Studio City, lots of filming is done in Georgia or London...it's metonymy
