Further confusing this is older props in CA paying low taxes while newer props pay much higher taxes even if the market value is equal, if I understand correctly.

@mayoredlee argues CA residents will suffer because local taxes are too high but advocates keeping loopholes (tax credits) for “historic” renovations. Isn’t that part of the problem in the region?
