This is SUCH a bad argument. The land costs more because you can PUT MORE UNITS ON IT. The land cost PER UNIT is not going up!
TOD as implemented is a bad practice that is used to justify maintaining far too much low density zoning

The study is actually about figuring out the effect of fixed rail transit. But it calls what it studies TOD. 
The article implies that improvements to transit are also bad, because they make the neighborhoods more valuable.
Yet, good access to transit is one of best ways to improve the prospects of low income families by providing better access to jobs, etc.
Having compared 48hills's summaries of research to the actual research before, I don't believe one word of this article.
