San Francisco's much lauded Freeway Revolt merely pushed the problem into other places, onto other people. https://twitter.com/alexismadrigal/status/660554979187396608 …
@michaelprhodes that wasn't what I was saying. Just that not building North-South flows probably pushed it through the East Bay

@kimmaicutler@michaelprhodes I would say that the battle was mostly won in SF but it didn't save Oakland. -
@khuey_@kimmaicutler@michaelprhodes East Bay didn't get as much publicity for not building Ashby, Shepherd Canyon, Richmond Blvd fwys - 1 more reply

@kimmaicutler@michaelprhodes Twice as much traffic still crosses GGB as Richmond-San Rafael bridge though https://api.tiles.mapbox.com/v4/enf.ee407c6a/page.html?access_token=pk.eyJ1IjoiZW5mIiwiYSI6IkNJek92bnMifQ.xn2_Uj9RkYTGRuCGg4DXZQ#11/37.8204/-122.3225 …Thanks. @kimmaicutler Ah, but they're far enough apart that there's not that much overlap, given layout of the Bay. Would be a pretty crazy detour. -
@kimmaicutler If anything, more SF freeways would likely mean more cars coming into SF from East Bay suburbs, polluting OAK in the process.
