@kimmaicutler or the skyscrapers would exist in places like Alabama or Mississippi where the markets are freer and surely zoning is freer -
@asaxena they exist in Houston which has no zoning. Alabama & Mississippi unfort don't have as many jobs.

@kimmaicutler property rights are pesky things. once low density housing is built its almost impossible to displace people to rebuild higher -
@asaxena not property rights per se. If you changed single family zoning to low density, over time ppl would sell, it would get redeveloped
