Tightened lending since 2007 has gone much farther than that. The pendulum didn’t go back to neutral. We are farther from pre-bubble norms now, in the other direction, than we were in 2005.

According to the NY Fed, market share of mortgage originations for all credit scores under 760 is well less than half of what it was at any time pre-2007. If you think that’s just great, then exactly who is supposed to own the house? Someone has to own it.
