Reading books about 19th century poverty, and wondering if we should go back to using the word "pauper" for urban poor people. It has a much more sympathetic and positive feel than "homeless", which is often not even accurate anyway.

I think a lot of people are just...poor.

There are people working full time jobs in LA who still can't find a place just because the cost of rent is too high, not that their incomes are too low.

And now people want that changed to unhoused or houseless because people can make a home without the physical structure of a house.
