From 1975 to 2016, the share of young women who were homemakers fell from 43% to 14% Is there any research to support anecdotal evidence that women are leaving well paying jobs to care for kids? The lack of childcare over the last few months feels underreported and overlooked.

Really should be a public good. It’s a generally a low margin business and even if the parent is paying like college tuition-prices, the worker is still getting barely above minimum wage bc caregiver-child ratios are so tight at early ages...
