YES. THIS.
"What’s happening in SF is you have a progressive movement made up of people who are mostly white and feel that they know what’s in the best interest of Black people." - @LondonBreed ripping the 白左, a microcosm of what's happening across the country. https://twitter.com/NaithanJones/status/1286493056074735617 …

“Progressive” in SF is a very specific political party, with a candidate bench, leadership, specific policies (especially around land use) that isn’t at all generalizable to progressivism at a national level. The city’s “moderate” politicians would left of center-left nationally.

I mean, that is certainly one very specific definition. In context, I understood Mayor Breed as referring to white progressives across the nation pushing "defund the police" efforts on behalf of Black people who mostly (78%) don't want that, or even want the opposite of that:pic.twitter.com/qvypAsAoAx

Yes, that seems like a great thing. The point is - and what Mayor Breed is talking about are the mostly white people protesting outside her house, shooting fireworks at her windows, because they think the defunding doesn't go far enough:pic.twitter.com/XBteheATml

That's SF protest politics. Many layers of "white progressive" here. There's the older pedantic generation that were first-wave gentrifiers in the 1970s and 1980s who she's definitely talking about. There's a younger generation too. Fireworks seem excessive.
