Having a competent state and bureaucracy and thriving private sector aren’t mutually exclusive. no obviously I am a tech person too. However there are definitely certain circles whose MO is pretty obviously privatize the state and make venture returns off it. In certain cases, what they make is an improvement but there's invariably collateral damage in other areas.
