I think it's true, and I think it also depends on the person. my mom died when I was twelve and I didn't turn into a jerk. What is different about the Trump family? Is it the way they dealt with each other around trauma?

Ugh. I wonder about this with other bad actors. Like in our industry. Trauma with leverage begets disastrous consequence. “Who hurt you?” is a glib refrain, but often it’s exactly the right question.

Yep, I am horrified by his presidency and yet at the same time, it’s so obvious he just wasn’t loved as a child the way a child should be loved.
