For all the bitching people did, having 68 lines and no more than two blocks' walk for a transit stop was no small achievement, and ranks high for U.S. transit. Muni's budget exceeds $1B. It's not like San Francisco was starving it before. This is far more complex than that.

This is the fault of 1) Congress for not extending support to locals; and 2) SF Supes that reversed a fare increase that would have preserved service, in a play for populist re-election cred.
