Im happily staying in America for the long-term Despite all our huge problems and our government truly sucking... I still believe in American exceptionalism, especially because we can criticize our government w/o suddenly "disappearing" Happy to take over this VC's dealflow :)https://twitter.com/lpolovets/status/1269023290493788161 …

A lot of that dealflow will be in other countries because we won’t have immigrants.

There are tons of countries where people aren't 'disappeared' too. That's an awfully low bar.

I'm not sure if you're paying attention to what is happening right now to press freedom in the United States and how emboldened someone will be if they're given a blank check for another four years.https://www.niemanlab.org/2020/06/well-try-to-help-you-follow-the-police-attacks-on-journalists-across-the-country/ …

The pessimists got out of Venezuela (to use a more modern example) earlier rather than later and are better off for it

I think the tricky thing is this: if we can't stop it, we're probably not in for a repeat of the 30ies, but something more like Venezuela, Hungary or Turkey, where it gradually gets worse and worse. It's hard to figure out clear "I should go now" lines
