I recently talked to a friend who bought an apartment on the Upper East Side because he couldn't afford a place in Brooklyn. The UES used to be one of the most expensive neighborhoods in all of NYC.

My parents have noted this to me for several years. They moved downtown a decade ago and now many of the young artists my dad works with are moving to the UES. Time is a flat circle and NY real estate will always find a way to be infuriating.
