Schedule. Schedule schedule schedule. Also not every day will be a good day, and screen time isn’t murder. Yesterday I was slammed w/work, it was the first day there were no Zooms, so the kids binge-watched Magic School Bus and made themselves waffles in the toaster for lunch.

We are keeping up homeschooling in summer because totally unstructured time just isn’t working. A schedule of hourly “subjects” & workbooks (keeps the day moving). Also signed up for some

The end of the school year in my area has helped tremendously.

Seriously though - taking lots of breaks but setting goals for the day was our method. As long as the kids met the goals it was a success and we celebrated with high fives and anything else that felt right in the moment.
