We can’t do this in America due to the Takings Clause of the Fifth Amendment. Not without putting the taxpayer on the hook for the rent, at least.

This is a bailout of landlords who are already facing 50%+ non-payment from commercial and retail tenants, who are renegotiating. Canadian pension funds are big holders of real estate loans. But yea ... you can just run with Zoolander good, Drumpf bad if that is easier for you
