Convenience sampling via FB + high false positive rate for the test = questionable results. I think this does raise the need for a well designed study.

It was not an unbiased sample. People could opt-in to it, using a link that they were handed from their doctor and was being passed around.

The replies make some good points. Assay isn’t FDA approved and may have higher or lower error than estimated. Also it’s volunteer based which may cause selection bias for people who were sick. Binning of large age groups. There are other studies ongoing so we’ll see.

The virus has been endemic for months. The first wave was largely asymptomatic and the panic didn't set in until a it had reached a large portion of the high risk demographic.

1/ I am not sure we can trust anything coming from China. Might be just bad testing or intentional. 2/ Santa clara test could also have high false positive & selection bias.
