no obviously I am a tech person too. However there are definitely certain circles whose MO is pretty obviously privatize the state and make venture returns off it. In certain cases, what they make is an improvement but there's invariably collateral damage in other areas.

@sriramk is calling a republic "authoritarian" and the magnanimity of the billionaire class "entrepreneurial energy", despite the latter being actual authoritarian. E.g. at Facebook, where we both worked, was there any mistake that it wasn't completely top down? -
