To be fair this is a bit of an apples to oranges comparison. Density varies greatly so NY would probably have been worse anyways

In addition, Bay Area companies reacted faster and instituted wfh policies while people in other places were still going in to work.

Isn’t this premature?
@COVID19Tracking shows a backlog of 64k tests in CA, plus CA has tested far fewer people. Unclear how many tests are in the Bay Area, but#s could still explode. Hopefully they don’t obv -
The thing is it’s been 13 days since lockdown so if there were a ton of infections out out there we weren’t seeing they should have been flooding the hospitals by now.

I feel this as well and I’m really hoping that once this all past as a side effect we give them more authority to address regional challenges such as housing, homelessness and transit.
