But did he really lead here, or did he just follow the trend? Didn’t London Breed, the county health execs and all the local Bay Area school boards take the really tough road by closing first? Also, I wonder how much our level of education played into closures in Bay Area /1

In South City parents and students were digitally screaming for schools to be closed, with many citing “flatten them curve” as a reason. Thankfully we have great administrators and board members who made a good call to close, as did other districts that same night. /2

What’s really embarrassing is the the Bay Area is literally where PCR testing was developed. We should have been able to ramp up much faster. WTAF?!?

We should have been ramping up testing since the end of January. We have the resources to do it. CDC and FDA fumbled things badly but CA could have pushed back a lot harder and gotten clearance to test on a larger scale earlier.
