Like many folks in the Bay Area, I decided to make sourdough while sheltering in place. This was my first time ever. It didn’t rise quite as much as I was hoping but it was generally a success 😋 Thanks to @fliume @irapolis @bexinthecity5 @DuncanJMcCrae for inspiration + advicepic.twitter.com/yfHFyRb6yy

Funny story: @fliume and I were mutuals on Twitter but had never met in person. She posted that she had some extra sourdough starter and we met up in person a couple months ago and now I finally have homemade bread 😊

How long did you let it rise and how refreshed was your starter? How many times did you fold?

I used this recipe. So before the first proof in the fridge I did 3 foldings 1 hour apart. The starter was from the fridge but I did 4 feedings before I made the dough and it was doubling in size and bubbling after 6-8 hourshttps://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/no-knead-sourdough-bread-recipe …

I put the starter in my south facing window during the day so it would be warm. I did notice that when I made the dough the starter had deflated a bit so maybe I need to use it at its peak next time instead?
