Does coronavirus feel more like a temporary setback that we'll bounce back from in a few quarters and things will be mostly the same or will it have enduring cultural impacts on the workplace and education that we'll remember for decades forward?

Having lived through SARs in Toronto, it was quickly forgotten. If these outbreaks become annual it will have a long term effect. I think it will accelerate remote work but that trend was already in progress.

Gotcha, I think I agree. TIL a flu pandemic killed 2 million people, including 100,000+ Americans, in 1957. Did that pandemic have those lingering effects on society? What makes Coronavirus (potentially) different?
