the 2008 recession. If you look at what Sanders' campaign is today, it very much pulls from the themes of the Occupy movement which died out in a relatively short time, but the ideas lived onward. Young people's frustration w/ debt, housing affordability, etc.

How much enduring cultural impact was there from the Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1918? I think one of the biggest enduring impacts may be to how companies think of supply chains.
