Meanwhile, Berkeley Planning Commission is systematically downzoning city and/or capping housing growth in some weird, parallel universe effort to reduce property values and have government buy up all the land. At least, that's what they're telling themselves they're doing.
Don’t disagree with the premise (disclosure: U.S. national living in UK, no skin in game) but feels a bit small beer. Seems folks with these windfalls don’t have net worth of the top 1% (average $10 million+). Understandable they don’t think the burden is theirs (even if it is).
