I'm kind of surprised that the SF and Oakland senators are in favor of SB50, given that the actual cities of SF and Oakland are so anti-building-new-things. Although lots of stuff on this issue doesn't quite make sense to me, like the co-author not supporting the bill....

A lot of them have worked at the hyperlocal level and know that the incentives at that level are not conducive toward solving the problem once they get to higher levels of government.
