San Francisco gave parents more choice where they sent their kids to schools. That led to more segregation.
Now the school district wants to give parents *less* choice. They want to know what parents think about that.

As noted in the article, none of the assignment proposals address the issues that lead parents to avoid schools. If you're in a zone with under-resourced schools, being restricted isn't helpful. Equitable zones would be shaped oddly, and a huge investment is needed in transpo.

how do you know if they're under resourced? Is there a chart somewhere showing spending per student by facility?
