I own a retail shop in Seattle that (by law) is fully surveilled. We catch so much crazy crime on our cameras, including about a dozen burglaries/attempted burglaries. Police are 99% of the time completely ineffectual for minor crimes. It’s why people resort to naming/shaming.

We’ve never chosen to share footage, and I generally agree it’s not…good. But I also think it’s a consequence of having a poorly functioning law enforcement system for petty crime.
