Kim, it does. 30,000 units are currently approved but it's too expensive to build given all the fees & requirements by the city. From what I understand, the supes knew that the BMR requirements would make the projects unfeasible - but, political will won out.

Most of those units are in places like TI, Hunters Point, etc. that will take decades to do.... people who cite that number are doing so in bad faith.

Is it possible and effective to have a ballot intitutaive to kick them all out and not have a supervisors board altogether?

That’s a naive idea considering that they literally just won a supermajority on the board last month.

You see, they really do want to build more housing. It’s just that they keep doing everything in their power to NOT build more housing. It’s really a shame.
