I feel the same way about the power shutoffs. We would have had so many more fires without them. Firefighting resources would have been spread thin. We would have more large fires. This past week could have been so so so much worse, and would have without evacs and shutoffs.

It's incorrect. Several people have died this year. Two people died in the Sandalwood fire near Riverside earlier this month. I've heard of others.

A Porter Ranch man died from cardiac arrest while fleeing the Saddle Ridge fire, too.

Given the Camp Fire is roughly 75-80% of the fatalities, the age message largely speaks to the demographics of the town of Paradise as much as any other inference.
