Exactly. The expectations on all sides here are unrealistic. Yes PG&E needs to do better maintenance (and comms!). But it's impossible to reduce fire risk to 0 on Santa Ana days. And it's impossible to know exactly which spots will have worst winds. It's a mess all around.

I think starting the conversation from “this is due to climate change” is the first thing all of us have to do. It takes a lot of the politics out of it and helps distribute responsibility to all of the actors who can help - not solely PG&E or any other utility for that matter
