The M4.5 quake at 10:33 pm was in the East Bay at 14 km depth. Because any quake can be a foreshock, there’s a slight increase in the chance of a bigger quake for the next few days, at the same location near the Calaveras fault

Yup! Any time an earthquake happens, the stresses in the Earth all re-arrange themselves, which can cause all sorts of knock-on effects.

Yes, but within limits. Earthquakes can (and often do!) trigger other earthquakes, but they can't reach very far. You can expect lots of aftershocks on the same fault where an initial earthquake happened, or on other faults that are VERY close by.
