the reason comms does this sort of thing is to regain a sense of control, from "rogue employee leaks meeting" to "we are actively choosing to share with you our meeting" thankfully this has actually been more interesting of a Q&A than i thought

At least with @ewarren you’d face an antitrust suit in a court of law with its own institutional norms whereas the alternative is sliding toward authoritarianism where a current or future president could VKontakte ownership of Facebook.
