Why are catholic schools such a prominent institution in San Francisco? Ive always assumed because SFUSD was heavily Asian, white parents just threw their kids in Catholic schools. Wrong or right?

Catholic schools are a prominent percentage of private schools in the US mostly because they tend to be cheaper than other private schools.

People just dont like that they dont have choice. There's 160 public schools in SF. 20 high schools. The schools run on a lottery system to encourage diversity, but also make it so people have to drive their kids across town. Private schools allow agency/proximity.
