Marin NIMBYs coopting leftist terminology would be more depressing if they weren't so bad at it
does @livableca understand that housing financialization is the system that helps them leverage their property values and mortgages too or nahhttps://calmatters.org/commentary/housing-financialization/ …

in SF? no. but I think that could be a legislative result at the state level depending on where that supply goes.

I do think it's good to talk as much as possible about how much BMR construction is based on MR development. knowing that would move political battles in a more positive direction (including talking about taxing property values)

The westside homeowners are largely indistinguishable from the Marin + Peninsula
@livableca members (about anti-development, as well as paranoia about law and order), and work together with LC, and yet they're still considered a valued part of the "progressive" coalition. Funny -
I think the battle lines are too entrenched in SF. remember the flip side of your statement, which is that moderates would have to stop being reactionary about tenant rights

So, a "3 Ps" party. Devil's always in the deets. One Q: what would the Housing Balance goal look like for that aspirational coalition? Right now it looks like this, about 95% MR need achieved, about 35% all AH needs met. The party would expect a better outcome yes?pic.twitter.com/l76mw4SX5C

I think RHNA in examining only something like <0.5% of the housing stock is a profoundly flawed, utterly misrepresentative metric.

I don't see why not. Unless all decisions are made in undemocratic "town hall meetings". Polls showed strong majority support for SB 50 in San Francisco and across California. It contains tenant protections and would increase housing.

Would love to see a world where that exists. It may require some Twitter unblocking by uhshanti.
